Quote:
Full Tilt Poker Makes Major "Bot" Bust

Many Full Tilt Poker players woke up today to find out that they have received emails from Full Tilt Poker, informing them that they would be receiving money after FTP management busted numerous accounts that had been using "unauthorized" software.

The amounts returned so far, from what I have seen, have ranged from $50 all the way up to $2000. FTP has said that they used a formula consisting of the number of hands played against the "bots" as well as the amount won/lost to them.

Apparently these "bots" were playing Heads Up Limit Hold'em cash games.

Suspicion amongst members of the poker community grew due to timing tells, the fact that these suspected bot accounts never played against each other, and also the fact that the bots had basically the same stats in terms of pre-flop aggression, etc.

This investigation has been ongoing for months now.

Two of the suspected "bot" accounts were JapintheSack and BeatMe1, though until we receive confirmation of this fact from Full Tilt Poker, please take this as an unconfirmed rumor.

If you have played heads up limit hold'em cash games in the past 6-12 months, you might want to check your email, as you could have something from Full Tilt Poker as well as a refund in your account.

The offending players had their accounts seized, and all of their funds were distributed to players who had played against them.

Makes you wonder how many bots are operating out there that haven't been caught yet?

Email from Fulltilt -

Dear,

Upon conclusion of a recent investigation of cash game play, we have determined that opponents of yours used unauthorized automated software while playing.

In this instance, we have seized the account balances of the offending players and redistributed it to players who were victimized. The calculation was based on the number of hands played against the offending players as well as the amount won or lost against them.

With this redistribution, we have determined that your are entitled to a refund of $1382.69, which will be placed in your account in the next 4-6 hours.

For various reasons, we are unable to advise you of the names of the players or any other information regarding this case; we thank you for your understanding in this regard.

Here at Full Tilt Poker, we investigate every concern of suspicious activity at our tables. The vigilance of our players is one of the strongest weapons we have in our ongoing battle against illegal play. If you become suspicious of any behavior, chat, or action at our tables, please don't hesitate to contact us at support@fulltiltpoker.com.

We wish you best of luck at the tables, and if there's any other way we can be of assistance, please let us know.

Sincerely,

Full Tilt Poker

The best part is these bots were caught and reported by some astute 2+2ers like 8 months ago, and it has taken FTP this long to finish it out.

Yeah really he should check his account.

I know for fact there are bots out there, but they can only play limit which is good.

But there are so many ways to cheat online it makes me very wary of ever putting or playing anything higher than I do. Multi accounts, people buying accounts deep in tours, the supposed "super account" on AP that could see hole cards, just to name a few.

That's why I always discredit online pros as the real deal. Ivey, negranue, brunson those guys are the real deal, not these 18yr old clowns. I think all online accomplishments are tainted and mean nothing. Ok I'm straying in the wrong direction here.

Not to mention the more and more I play and watch others play the more and more I think the sites are rigged too. Go ahead say I'm crazy, blah, blah. Everyone uses the same argument when saying its not rigged, why would they they make so much money? So why would these huge fortune 500 companies in the US commit fraud? Martha Stewart anyone?? GREED, that's why.

The statement about bots only playing limit is false.

There is some pretty damning evidence re: bots playing Full Ring Deep-Stack NLHE, and winning (at like 3ptBB/100)

Shit, that's scary. Tourneys too, then prolly.

Just think about this to, US companies have some type of regulation and they commit very similiar fraud crimes, that I believe these sites do. They are based in other countries (usually non US friendly) most of the customers are from the US, why not defraud them. You know how these countries feel about Americans to begin with. Who's going to stop them?

Oh and you can check my stats I'm a winning player on every site I play except ps, fuck them I'm done with site. So this is not just coming from some losing player who wants to blame his losses on it being rigged, as is the case with most "the sites are rigged" bs posts on forums.

Serious question.

How does a bot help you?

Doesn't someone have to program the bot to play a certain way? If someone has the knowledge of how the bot was programmed, he should be able to play it himself the same way.

I like you CardFish but this was pretty dumb.

You don't even have to be at your computer and you have a program multi-tabling making you money.

Can't blame the programmers, really...

That bot was really fucken good. and really lucky. playing 30/60 and 50/100 that isn't too bad of a loss. it never tilted, and was surprisingly difficult to read. also japinthesack was one of the biggest winners at that limit.

Wait - I thought you were the guy who said the poker sites were rigged ... by the poker sites. That is completely different than someone using bots without the sites' knowledge or consent. I am pretty sure you are still a dumbass!
