I live in Ohio and there are currently some litigation with the State Attorney General involving slot machines that have been installed in bars throughout the state. They have skirted the law by saying that the games are not purely games of chance but also involve skill thereby making them legal in the State of Ohio. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06121/686512-85.stm
Clearly a "bot" program could be created that would play perfect heads up poker that could be made into a video game. The drunken bar patrons would get killed by the machine over time, and you could even take rake. I have not done any independent legal research into this issue, but I would think HU limit poker would definitely be a game of skill. I am not sure if there are other prohibitions regarding card playing that might impact a video Hold Em game.
Anyone know how to make a program? |
